American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA®)

AOBTA® is a non-profit professional membership organization promoting and representing instructors, practitioners, students, and schools and programs of Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT).  ABT encompasses any form of bodywork therapy with its theoretical roots in Chinese/Asian medicine including, but not limited to, Acupressure, Amma, Shiatsu, Tuina, Nuad bo'Rarn, Chi Nei Tsang, and Medical Qigong.

Representative for the AOBTA® Debra Howard,  Past President 

Debra C Howard, LMT, AOBTA®-Certified Instructor, Dipl. ABT (NCCAOM), has been studying and practicing Chinese medicine-based Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT) since 1992, and teaching since 1994.

Ms Howard has also been actively involved in furthering the ABT profession through volunteer positions in AOBTA since 1993 and served as national president from 2002 - 2007. She is currently the AOBTA Convention Coordinator. 
On the faculty at Medical Training College in Baton Rouge, LA, Ms Howard also teaches continuing education in various venues around the country. She has published several articles and authored sections about ABT in two textbooks, Salvo’s MTPP 2ed and Braun & Simonson’s Into to MT, 2ed. Debra also contributed to Ferguson & Persinger’s Sand to Sky, a book about teaching, by Asian Medicine teachers.
